A question with more than one answer is a way to stimulate children's creative thinking at the same time, they extend their language and express their ideas. The way we ask questions to children invites them to have a conversation beyond a simple answer like yes or no. Here are some questions you can ask to encourage their creative thinking.

Open-ended Creating Questions

  • What changes would you make to…?

  • How many ways can you…?

  • Why did you choose… (those materials, that order, etc.)?

  • How could we make the/this_____ (stronger, better, etc.)?

  • How will you make a new… (design, pattern, etc.)?

  • Why do you think it is important to…?

  • Rank these______ according to ________.

  • How are you planning to do that?
