Thoughts and Reflections from Teacher to Teacher

Welcome dear colleagues,

My name is Adriana Alvarado, I have worked teaching young children for more than 16 years as a professional in the early childhood area. I have done training in various areas associated with teaching young children such as Powerful Interactions, Scoring System Class Assessment, Project Approach, Visible Thinking, Creative Curriculum, and VPK. I worked with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for 6 years as a Spanish teacher in the Dual Language Program of United Way Center for Excellence. Besides, I participated in conferences nationwide as NAEYC, Visible Thinking, Reggio Emilia, presented at the Annual Conference of FLAEYC (Florida Association for the Education of Young Children), and Miami Dade College Early Childhood Conference. Currently, I work for The Child Care Program of the Continuing Education Department in Miami Dade College Eduardo J. Padron Campus. Something that I enjoy doing my job is creating training for other teachers in continuing education.

Having direct contact with teachers allows me to perceive their passion for work and many other times their tiredness. That is why I always like to encourage teachers, to help them recover that passion that we often lose along the way because we know that working with children is not easy. After having my own children and I am back to college pursuing my bachelor’s degree in early childhood; because it is never too late to continue and because we never stop learning.  Although I am not currently in the classroom, I think that by making a positive impact on teachers I am reaching the children, each post on this site will inspires you to be open to create and believe that your work is the most precious one.
